It is our preference to get to know you closely—your learning style and history, previous tutoring experiences, and your apprehensions and objectives—so that we can match you with a tutor ideally suited to help you excel. Simultaneously, we hope that you get to know us, our philosophy, and exactly how we intend to assist you. Ordinarily, this essential consultation occurs in a student’s home, though we are happy to conduct it via one or more detailed phone conversations.

An Introductory diagnostic test

Following the initial consultation, every student’s program begins with a real diagnostic test, review of the test’s results, and a tutor-student (and parent, if appropriate) discussion of the student’s strengths, weaknesses, goals, and expectations.

Mastery of subject material

You and your tutor will spend a significant amount of time systematically covering all subject material tested by the exam. The concepts and information are presented in a fashion designed to stimulate your particular learning style.

Refining students' testing skills

Tutoring for standardized tests would not be complete without a deep understanding of testing strategies. Therefore, our tutors will teach you the most effective techniques for answering the different types of questions on each test, and will help you to develop your own personal strategy for excelling on test day.
